A Raccoon Solstice is Animacy’s new Theatre for Young Audiences play, currently in-development (most recently with Bad Hats Theatre as part of their Bad New Ideas Residency).
A Raccoon Solstice is a family friendly, outdoor, winter show with original live music and vocal arrangements. The play tells the story of five urban raccoons, who, despite their differences, must come together to save the Winter solstice and bring peace, darkness, and rest back to raccoons and humans alike. This work seeks to recognize and challenge the allure of individualism and consumption during the holiday season through the playful relationship the clown/mask has with its audience and the way music can unite people, highlighting the significance of ecological and social community.
