In this workshop participants will design and build a character mask from molding clay, LCBO bags, wood glue and paint. They will be led through the initial conception of mask based on faces they know or are inspired by and traditional commedia dell’arte archetypes. After construction the masks require 24h to dry before they can be painted. Finally participants will be given the opportunity to write and perform from the mask they have created and work through some basic mask performance and creation exercises.
