Morgan Johnson

I am an interdisciplinary artist with a background in acting, play-writing, multimedia and aerial arts. I am interested in creating new works that are focused on research creation and often that have to do with relations with more-than-human worlds and social and environmental justice. Most of my work also tends to include relationships with the ocean. I have a BFA in Acting, am finishing my Masters in Environmental Studies and will be continuing on for my PhD in the same field. I am very interested in fusing academic research, activism and theatre creation; my doctoral studies will involve creating theatre as a form of land education that speaks to environmental/social justice and my masters explores inland cities’ relations to coastal communities and ecosystems, particularly looking at the Indigenous land defence camp on Lelu Island. Before Imperceptible I began exploring activist theatre creation through my one-woman play High Tide: On the Life and Writings of Rachel Carson.
